I’m starting this journey for a few significant reasons, including trying to improve my liver function due to elevated liver enzymes, assisting with gastrointestinal issues and reducing excess weight.
To start this health plan of reducing added sugar in my diet, I sought the guidance of my doctor and dietician, which has been a source of great reassurance and confidence.
While sharing my experiences, I wanted to give some insights into what it has been like to reduce sugar in the trial and show the outcomes of that. At this stage, I’m aiming to do it for three months to see what changes take place in my body and to get blood tests to see if my liver has improved.
In my day-to-day life, I share my home with my family, who are not on any diet plans. Despite this, they have been incredibly supportive of my journey, which I’m truly grateful for. There is always sugar and items with added sugar in our cupboards and fridge. Some may see it as a temptation, but after only one week of reducing sugar, I had no cravings or desire to eat these foods.
My journey is personal. I am not a health professional or dietician, and I always encourage seeing one before trying a new diet so that you can get the best advice and tailor a diet to your own circumstances.
I am not an accomplished cook, so I prepare simple, quick, nutritious, and delicious meals.
Let’s embark on this joyous health journey together!
